8 Days Uganda Safari Wildlife and Primate Adventure

This amazing safari will take you to a number of Uganda’s best wildlife game parks including Murchison Falls NP home to the big Five animals which include: rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, lions and cheetahs, Queen Elizabeth National Park when you will enjoy a launch cruise on the amazing Kazinga water channel, Lake Bunyonyi National Park as well as the Kibale Forest National Park the home of chimpanzees – man’s closest living relative.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park

Day 2: Early morning game drive and boat cruise

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National park

Day 4: Chimp tracking, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Day 5: game drive, explore Lake Katwe and boat cruise

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi national park

Day 7: Gorilla trekking & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Departure to Kampala

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park

You will be picked up from your hotel by our representative from Travel Gorge Tours who will double as your driver and guide on this safari. You will begin the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a lunch stop in Masindi town before transferring to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will get a chance to track rhinos. Later you will proceed to your accommodation for dinner and the overnight.

Day 2: Early morning game drive and boat cruise

Have an early breakfast at your accommodation and then set out on a game drive in the park to see the different wild animals such as baboons, Lions, oribi, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, and waterbuck. Have lunch and in the afternoon enjoy a boat cruise on the river Nile (the longest river in the world). You will see large schools off hippos, several huge Nile crocodiles, a large profusion of birds plus a number of different animas including buffaloes and elephants. You will then walk to the top of the falls for an aerial view.  Return for dinner and overnight rest at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National park

In the morning after breakfast you will checkout of your accommodation and begin the long journey to Kibale national park. Lunch will be had in Fort Portal town; you will proceed to tour the Amabeere caves and the crater lakes before finally arriving in the park where you will check into your accommodation for dinner and the overnight.

Day 4: Chimp tracking, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Today you will wake up very early in the morning for the chimpanzee trekking adventure. You will be transferred to the starting point of the trek by the driver-guide, and there you will be briefed by the park ranger guide about this fascinating activity of chimpanzee trekking. You will be separated into trekking groups, and led by a ranger guide begin the trek in the forest. the trek takes between 30 minutes to 4 hours, but once you find the chimps, you spend an hour in their midst taking photographs (flashy photography is prohibited) observing them swing from one tree branches to another, feed, as well as play. Later on you will checkout of your accommodation and begin the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 5: game drive, explore Lake Katwe and boat cruise

Have an early cup of tea or coffee before going for a game drive with a packed lunch to see some of the early risers such as buffaloes, different antelopes, elephants, Uganda kobs, lions and several birds. You will proceed to the Katwe salt-lake where several animals normally converge to drink water. After a picnic lunch, you will go on a boat ride on the lake and later return to your accommodation for dinner and the overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi national park

following a hefty breakfast at your lodge, checkout and begin  the drive to Bwindi National Par driving through the southern Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will get an opportunity to search for the tree climbing lions. In addition you will encounter other animals such as the oribis and the waterbucks before finally arriving in Bwindi National park – the home of mountain gorillas.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Very early morning you will transfer to the headquarters of the park where you will be briefed by the ranger-guided about the guideline of the gorilla trekking activity. In groups of eight people you will begin the forest search for the gorillas led by the guides. The duration of the trek depending on the movement of the gorillas’ movements, however once you find then, you will be allowed an hour to observe them, take their photographs and later return for lunch at your accommodation. You will later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a thrilling canoe ride on the beautiful lake and then check into your accommodation where you will have dinner and sped the night.

Day 8: Departure to Kampala

This will be the final day of our safari, after a nice breakfast at the lodge, you will begin the journey back to Kampala having lunch along the way and making stopovers at the Uganda equator and the Igongo Cultural Centre. The driver guide will drop you either at your hotel in Kampala or to the airport for your departure flight.
